PARTY OF BEEF JERKY
Candói is located in the central region of Paraná. Surrounded by power plants and artificial lakes created by hydroelectric power plants, the city presents a great option for lovers of fishing and water sports, as well as being a great place of rest and leisure.
The municipality of Candói, because it is located on the route of the missions, also incorporated the tradition of tropeirismo, rescuing year by year this historic activity through the National Festival of beef jerky. The beef jerky was the main food of the tropeiros and became the main dish of the party with national expression. It is a city of many charms!
WHAT TO DO
FISHING, NAUTICAL SPORTS AND LEISURE
Nautical sports, restaurants, snack bars and inns are some of the highlights of the wetlands. Added to the passage of the Iguaçu, Cavernoso and Jordão rivers, it has been conquering more and more fans of sport fishing. The modality differs from traditional fishing because it has an interaction characteristic between fisherman and fish.
Visitors can take the time to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunrises and sunsets by the lakeshore. Another option is to taste a delicious portion of fried fish, usually offered in the inns and sandwich shops of Salto Santiago.
Parque do Lago is ideal for those who are looking for practice, exercise and play. The place is also very used to take a good mate or tererê and have a chat with friends.
NATIONAL PARTY OF BEEF JERKY
Traditionally held in the month of August, next to the 27th, the anniversary of the city is celebrated. The party has the purpose of keeping alive the traditions of its settlers, "the tropeiros". The event venue features parking, equestrian racing for horse racing, velocross track, loop lane, cattle auction area, and more!
The National Party of beef jerky is one of the biggest gastronomic events in the region, also evolving exhibition fairs and national shows.
On 11 August the traditional religious party takes place in the Mother Church, in honor of Santa Clara. The festival receives pilgrims from all over the region. They are people who go to make their prayers and enjoy a succulent barbecue, spending the afternoon with games, dances and other amusements.
THE HORSE OF INTEGRATION
To further preserve the inheritance of tropeirismo, the municipality holds, along with the Party of beef jerky the Cavalcade of Integration, in which knights from all over the region run through the interior of the municipality, keeping alive the tradition left by the settlers.
In the month of November, nature lovers can participate and get to know the natural beauties of Candói. The Nature Walk takes you through different paths showing the best and most beautiful in the city.

Floodwaters of the Salto Santiago hydroelectric plant
Located on the banks of the BR-373 highway, the region of Lake Salto Santiago has a long territorial extension of the river, with affluent of the Iguaçu and Cavernoso rivers.
The place is particularly notable for the beautiful landscapes that can be enjoyed with water sports, motor boat trips or rowing kayaks, as well as sport fishing or tasting.
During the night, visitors enjoy the “peixe-rei”, and during the day the main fish are "Traíra", "Tilapia", "Mandi" and "Lambari". peixe-rei and tilapia are exotic fish that can be fished all year round.
Lake of the Santa Clara hydroelectric power plant
Located on the affluent of the River Jordan, on the border of the municipality of Candói with Pinhão, the main access to the lake is by highway PR-560.
The place stands out for the beauty of the waterfalls found on the shores of the lake and for the conservation of nature. There, there is the State Park of Santa Clara which has 632 hectares of Atlantic forest. Among the main waterfalls and the most visited is the "Paper Factory". The waterfall can also be glimpsed by boat.
In addition to water sports, the lake is ideal for fishing, mainly Traíras, Tilapia, Mandis, Lambaris and Carpas.
Located in the center of the municipality of Candói, the place is structured with a small artificial lake, hiking trail, outdoor gym and sports court with synthetic grass, as well as, playground for children to have fun.
In the Park of the Lake happens all year, on December 31, the traditional show of the turn of the year with outdoor shows and fireworks.
HOW TO ARRIVE
Candói is 341 km from Curitiba and 233 km from Cascavel. Access to the city is via highway BR-373, which is connected to BR-277.

Candói offers options for hotels and inns, as well as, houses on the waterfront of Salto Santiago and Santa Clara for rent.
Typical charque-based food is the main attraction of the Charque National Festival. The main dishes served at the party are arroz carreteiro de charque, escondidinho de charque, paçoca de charque , quirera de charque, among others. However, the special focos is the "bolinho de charque", because it has a peculiar flavor. They are tasty dishes, worth a try.
