TIPS
WALK TO THE STREETS OF THE CITY
The origin of the Mother Church of Our Lady of the Pillar is confused with the history of the city, founded in 1714 and important by its antiquity. It was listed by the Historical Patrimony of Paraná in 1999. In addition, during a walk, the visitor will find Fonte da Carioca, the Municipal Theater, and the ruins of an old port, responsible for the disposal of the mate herb in the 19th century.
GETTING TO KNOW THE NATURAL SLIDES AND SWIMMING POOLS
The adventure can begin with Rio Cachoeira, which offers an hour and a half of descent through the light and moderate rapids. The route travels mountain landscapes, such as the Paraná Peak, natural pools and the rich diversity of plant species on the banks of the river.

Bairro Alto
With its rivers, waterfalls and dense vegetation, the Bairro Alto has been established as a new area of leisure and ecological walks, not only for its natural appeal, but for its historical interest. In the place is vestiges of the old Cotia Plant; the place where the colonization began Japanese in Paraná; or by the numerous trails, such as the one of Conceição, that once made the connection between the city and Apiaí (SP) and whose remaining stretches allow to cross the path between the Capivari dam and Bairro Alto.
Paraná Peak
Situated on the border between Antonina and Campina Grande do Sul, it has 1.962 metters and is the highest in the South of Brazil. It was discovered by Reinhard Maack and conquered in July 1941. Today, when the 78th anniversary of its conquest has been celebrated, the peak is part of the route for mountaineering enthusiasts. The culminating point belongs to Antonina, but access is through Campina Grande do Sul.
HOW TO ARRIVE
It is possible to arrive to Antonina by the BR-277 and the old Graciosa Road, an unforgettable tour. The city is 90 km from Curitiba and 50 km from Paranaguá.

Antonina has hotels and inns in the historic center and others further away, where the visitor can enjoy even more the natural beauties of the region.
GASTRONOMY
Besides the seafood, the barreado is the dish that most pleases the visitors. It is prepared in a clay pot, with shredded cooked meat, accompanied by cassava and banana flour. Another unmistakable flavor of the region are the Banana Bales, 100% natural and delicious!
