OF TOURISM IS ECOLOGICAL
Known for its natural beauties, Campo Magro is located in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, and its neighboring municipalities are Almirante Tamandaré, Itaperuçu and Campo Largo. The history of the city refers to the period of the gold explorations in the hinterland of Curitiba.
The first settlement reached the site three centuries ago. With the end of the period of the exploration of gold, came the tropeirismo. The name of the municipality comes from the tropeiros who passed through the region. In the strict winter season, because of the little pasture that was destroyed by the cold, the cattle that lived there were very thin. It looked like a meager field, a "Campo Magro".
The municipality is in an area of great water potential and has three conservation units. The attractions are in the Rural Tourism Circuit, which provides for the strengthening of family farming and nature walks. The way has 42 kilometers and covers fishing services, aquatic resort, farmhouse with natural pools and horseback riding.

The city's Rural Tourism Circuit is formed by different natural attractions and projects that value sustainability and harmony with the environment.
TRAILS
Campo Magro is famous for its trails, especially among jeeps, motorcyclists, cyclists and those who enjoy walking. Morro da Palha is a place that allows a privileged view of the municipality and neighboring cities. It is widely used for paragliding and trail rides with motorcycles. There is also the Gold Trail, which is part of the history of the Campo Magro community.
FUN
Several are the properties that have activities to spend the Sunday with chalana tours, pedal boats, canopy tours, zip lines, horseback riding, "train", fishery always accompanied with good restaurants.
TIPS
SCULPTOR
The city houses one of the greatest living sculptors nowadays, Alfi Vivern. His atelier on the Cerne Road presents several works in the gardens, but the richness of his works are better understood in the good conversation with the artist. Visits are scheduled.
COLONIZATION
The history of Campo Magro and its colonization are perceived by the spread houses, with characteristics mainly Polish and Italian.
PARTIES
Campo Magro has traditional festivals, such as the Batatinha Festival in June; the election of the Queen of the Party of Batatinha in May; and the Gastronomic and Cultural Festival of Winter, which takes place in June and July.

TOURS
Gold Trail
It is formed by the Conceição River that preserves part of the history of the community. Historians tell us that everything began in the eighteenth century with the very rich Portuguese called Gaspar Correia. He would have acquired the lands to withdraw gold, but, as the extraction was difficult, because the mineral was very fine, it created a diversion for the passage of the water of the river. This way was lined with sheepskins in the bottom to hold the gold in the wool fibers. The service was made by the slaves. Worth knowing!
Water sources
Campo Magro harbors water sources for public supply, such as the Karst underground spring and the shallow spring of the Passaúna and Rio Verde rivers.
Astronomical Observatory of Paraná
Located on a high point of the city, which allows an excellent view of the sky and horizon, the place is equipped with telescopes, support workshops, library, amphitheater, study room and photo lab.
HOW TO ARRIVE
The main road access is the Cerne Road. For those who go from São Paulo or the South of the Country, the indication is to take the North Contour. Those who leave Curitiba, the main access is Avenida Manoel Ribas. The nearest air access is Afonso Pena Airport, in São José dos Pinhais.
WHERE TO STAY
There are few lodging options in the town. Recently, it was inaugurated inn near Morro da Palha, with all structure to the tourist. In addition, it has camping with basic structure to the visitors.
GASTRONOMY
The gastronomy follows the line of colonization of the region, being predominantly Italian and Polish. There are projects on the rural line and others with international touches. There are still bistros and colonial cafes.
