Guaratuba
NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL
Blessed by the patron Saint Louis of France, Guaratuba is a place of rare beauty, located in the East Paranaense region. A beach town of 36.6 thousand inhabitants, it lives mainly in agriculture, fishing and tourism. The largest banana producer in the state, the municipality also stands out for artisanal fishing.
However, it is the 22 km of beach that most attract visitors from Brazil and the interior during the summer. In number, more than 500 thousand people seek to know and enjoy the natural diversity of the municipality, which besides sea, has mountains, fresh water, good infrastructure of service and excellent services to receive you.

BEACH
Coastal city par excellence, Guaratuba has more than 20 km of beaches. Beautiful landscapes made up of clean waters and clear sands form the perfect setting for bathing, hiking and fun.
TOURS IN THE NATURE
The nature was generous with the town. Lovers of green and clean air have numerous options for tours. Morro do Brejetuba and Cabaquara, Rio São João, Casqueiro Island, Lagoa do Parado Municipal Park and Guaratuba Environmental Protection Area (APA) are some of the natural attractions that are worth a visit.

Art, culture and history are also contemplated in the municipality. Whether it's to learn more about local history or just to appreciate beautiful architectural masterpieces, the Casarão do Porto, the Historic Center and the Igreja Matriz Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso are mandatory stops.

The calendar of the city's parties is busy: the year begins with the traditional street carnival. From May to December, there are countless celebrations in honor of saints, such as the Feast of the Divine Holy Spirit, in July; the Feast of Nª. Sª. Dos Navegantes, in September, and the Festa de Nª. Sª. From Aparecida, in October.
NATURAL SPRING
Spread by Guaratuba are several springs of crystalline water, some of them with a promising healing power. This is the case of the Lions, Carioca and Fonte do Itororó fountains, where there is the image of Our Lady of Lourdes, which attracts many devotees throughout the year.

Beaches
Main attractive tourist of the municipality, the beaches extend by more than 20 km of coast. There are waters for all tastes, from the calmest to the most agitated. What does not change are the bathing conditions, always suitable for bathing.
Guaratuba Bay
With 48.57 square kilometers of area, Guaratuba Bay is a sanctuary of several species of birds and animals. The place, where 16 rivers flow, is ideal for wakeboarding, windsurfing, diving and fishing. The beautiful natural landscape invites to boat trips, ferries or ferry boats. There are marinas scattered along the waterfront that provide boat rental service for deep-sea or sport fishing.
Salto Parati
One of the most sought after tourist spots, Salto Parati is a great diving option in a natural pool 2 meters deep. The arrival to the place is an adventure to the part, that includes boat crossing and trail through the native forest. On the way, the visitor is faced with several species of birds, wild animals and the typical flora of the Atlantic Forest. Mother Church Our Lady of Bom Sucesso
Located in the central square of the city, the Mother Church of Our Lady of Bom Sucesso is a secular construction made by slaves and listed as Historical and Artistic Patrimony of Paraná. Colonial religious architecture alternates the simplicity of the masonry facade with internal ornaments. The image of Our Lady of Bom Sucesso, carved in polychrome wood, the baptismal font carved in rough stone and the stone water fountain inlaid on the wall of the sacristy give even more beauty and refinement to the interior of the building. According to a legend, several gold coins were placed on the walls of the temple.
Casarão do Porto
Tucked away by the State Historical Heritage, Casarão do Porto is one of the last remnants of the colonial period in the city. In the past, it was used for commerce and housing. In 1994, it was recovered and adapted to restaurant. It is a beautiful example of the lineage of colonial farms scattered throughout the country.
HOW TO ARRIVE
It is possible to reach Guaratuba by BR-376 and BR-277 (ferry crossing), both tolled. The distance to Curitiba is 120 km.

GASTRONOMY
The dishes most requested by locals and tourists are the typical ones of the coast. Outstanding are the seafood, such as cambira, made from smoked fish, stuffed mullet and the renowned oysters from Parana, considered the best in the world. The barreado, Paraná's most traditional recipe, is also very consumed.
