MATINHOS, THE LITTLE
SWEETHEART OF PARANÁ
The municipality, located in the Coast of Paraná, was colonized initially by Portuguese and Italian, forming agricultural colonies. Today, according to the IBGE of 2017, it is estimated a population of 33,450 inhabitants. At 111 km from the capital of the state of Paraná, Matinhos is formed by 15 balnearies and a set of lush beauties. The average annual temperature of the city is 19.5 degrees and the predominant vegetation is the Atlantic Forest. These are extraordinary beaches which attract a high number of tourists in the high season, with a focus to the Caiobá beach, the biggest and most popular.
The city also has several parties and events that are held annually, such as the Carnival of Matinhos and the handicraft fairs.

TRACKS
Morro do Escalvado and Morro do Boi have ecological trails which provide panoramic views of the region's beaches.
WATER PARK
Parque Águas Claras was inaugurated in April of 1994, with an area of 242 thousand square kilometers which provides a lot of joy and fun. They have swimming pools, fishing lakes, water slides and grills. It has attractions for all tastes.
BEACHES
Matinhos has beaches of exuberant beauties. The beaches of the balnearies which form the municipality of Matinhos are of Corais, Jussara, Gaivotas, Iracema, Guacyara, Currais, Ipacaraí, Betaras, Solimar, Marajá, Saint Etiene, Florida, Riviera I and II and Flamingo, besides Matinhos beach . In Caiobá there are surfing championships on Praia Brava and, on Praia Mansa, the waters are calm and shallow.

Parque Estadual Rio da Onça
The Parque Estadual Rio da Onça in Matinhos is another leisure option for tourists who spend the summer on the coast of Paraná. The Conservation Unit, created in 1981, is managed by the Environmental Institute of Paraná (IAP) and one of the last remnants of the country's Atlantic Forest. It has great natural beauties, trails, high bridges and the viewpoint.
Parque Nacional de Saint-Hilaire/Lange
The Park, which has 25,000 hectares, was created in 2001 with the objective of protecting the flora and fauna of the region. There are endangered animals, well-preserved vegetation, crystalline rivers, waterfalls, big walls are some examples of exuberant beauties that the park has. The site has great potential for ecotourism and mountaineering activities on site.
Ilha das Tartarugas
Member of the balneary of Caiobá, is also known as Lighthouse Island, which is accessible only when the tide is low. To get there, it is necessary to walk on the rocks. There are trails which lead end to end of the island, providing incredible views.
Pico de Matinhos
For those who want to relax and enjoy the landscape, It was constructed wooden lookouts on Ponte de Pedras, a place that divides the Matinhos Central Beach and Brava Beach. Due to the wave formations, the place is also frequented by surfers.
HOW TO ARRIVE
From Curitiba, it is possible to get to Matinhos by following the BR-277 towards Paranaguá, then the PR-508, known as the Alexandra-Matinhos highway.
Another access option would be BR-376, which connect Curitiba to Florianópolis. In the clover of Garuva, enter the PR-412 direction Guaratuba and cross the bay of ferry, until arriving at Matinhos.
