THE CAPITAL OF THE
CENTER OF PARANÁ
Pitanga, name of Tupi origin, means the fruit of the pitangueira. The settlement of the Serra de Pitanga, as it was called, came from isolated facts, conducted by various groups. The municipality has 32,645 inhabitants, according to IBGE. Neighboring the municipalities of Santa Maria do Oeste, Manoel Ribas and Boa Ventura de São Roque, Pitanga is 337 km from Curitiba and 78 km from Guarapuava, the largest city nearby.

WATERFALLS
Extreme sports can be practiced in the beautiful waterfalls in Pitanga, for example in Santo Andorinhas, in the locality Borboleta Bene, privately owned, where you can rappel.
PARTIES
The FestCentro is the biggest party in the Central region of Paraná. The festival gathers concerts, Trade Fair, rodeo, food court and stalls with typical foods.
PARKS
Parque do Lago is home to karting and hiking trails, a children's playground and a convention center for events. The space is sought after by visitors and residents of the city.
TIPS
OBSERVATION DECK
Pitanga has an Observation Deck where the Paraná State Center is identified. There is a panoramic view of the city.
PEABIRU'S PATHS
Known as Graminha Amassada or Gramado Amassado in the Tupi language, the trail is in the middle of the virgin forest, connecting the Brazilian coast to the Andes Mountains in Peru. Formerly the great route was made by Indians and tropeiros, however, today there are only a few vestiges of what really was the Way of Peabiru.

Marco Geodésico's Monument
One of the main sights of Pitanga. The inauguration marks the recognition of the municipality as the Historic Marco Geodésico of Paraná. Status has been recognized by law. In this way, tourists can know where is the Center of Paraná.
Francisco Bobato Municipal Museum
Located next to the Geodesic Frame. The collection brings together pieces that refer to the origin and evolution of Pitanga.
HOW TO ARRIVE
Access to the city is via highway BR-277. Pitanga has a bus station with a wide platform for boarding and disembarking.

Quirera and Virado de Feijão are the typical dishes of Pitanga. There are restaurants that offer the most diverse cuisines, such as Ukrainian, Indian, German.
