It was born from the pioneerism of farmers and settlers from São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, Ribeirão Claro has the past marked by coffee. Around 1895, the purple earth and the culture that began in the region attracted countless families who saw in the new locality the opportunity of a better life with the coffee production.
Nowadays, the city of more than 10,500 inhabitants preserves this rural vocation and produces, besides a coffee of recognized quality, milk, corn, jellies and compotes. Cattle breeding and birds complete this picture. However, the local economy has diversified and industry has strengthened. Ribeirão Claro is distinguished by its dairy and furniture factories.
The city's tourism potential is also receiving increasing recognition. The privileged location, on the banks of the Paranapanema River, the beautiful natural landscapes and the proximity of the Dam of Chavantes attract tourists from different regions, at all times of the year. Balnearies, waterfalls, hills and farms are preferred leisure options that move the economy of inns, water parks and extreme sports operators.

PONTE PÊNSIL
Ponte Alves Lima, which connects Ribeirão Claro (PR) to Chavantes (SP), is one of the three suspension bridges in Brazil and the only bridge in the country with wooden floors and sides. It was registered by the historical patrimony, in state scope, twice. It was also destroyed twice: first, burned by rebellious Sao Paulo during the Revolution of 1924; later, dynamited by the Getulistas troops in the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932. At last, it was taken by the waters of the Paranapanema River, in a flood, in 1983, being reconstructed two years later. For history and architectural beauty, it is worth knowing.
SANTUÁRIO DE SÃO VICENTE DE PALLOTTI
Religious tourism is also present in Ribeirão Claro, which is part of the Route of the Rosary. The Sanctuary of Saint Vincent de Pallotti is the only one dedicated to the saint in the world. It stands out for its modern structure and for receiving innumerable pilgrims who seek for sacred intercession.

Fazenda São João (Morro do Gavião)
Leisure area, 8 km from the city, full of natural beauties and options for fun. The centennial headquarters of the farm offers the warmth of a country house coupled with delicious local cuisine. In the large outdoor area of the property, it is possible to practice zipline and archery. One of the high points of the place (literally) is the Morro Gavião, a rock formation that is 850 meters above sea level. The walk to it and the possibility to contemplate from above the beauties of the lake of the Dam of Chavantes are attractions to the part.
Ramp Pedra do Índio
Located 9 kilometers from the city, the place is the favorite of extreme sports lovers. The raised conditions make it the ideal point for practicing free flight, climbing, abseiling, trails and canoeing. Offering one of the best views of the Dam of Chavantes, the place still has a camping area.
Fazenda Monte Belo
A mix of natural and historic tourism, the farm, which is part of the Coffee Route, provides a tour full of natural beauties, history, flavors and aromas. Visitors' day begins with a rural coffee. In the menu, only natural products or handmade. Then it's time to work out and get to know every detail of the place on an ecological trail that lasts almost four hours. The end point of the walk is in the old farm facilities, where the guide gives a real lesson on how coffee was harvested and benefited in the past.
Fazenda Pinhalzinho
In the old coffee farm, the rustic atmosphere contrasts with the warmth of the facilities. One of the main attractions of the place is the coffee tasting and classification laboratory, where a professional guides the visitors in a blind test of the drink. Anyone who enjoys crafts can make their own ceramic pieces in a studio with a professional oven (at 1300 degrees).
HOW TO ARRIVE
Access to the city is exclusively by road. Those in Paraná can take the PR-431, PR-151 and PR-092 highways. Those who come from São Paulo must travel on SP-270 or SP-280. The city has regular bus lines. For commercial flights, it is necessary to land at Londrina Airport, 180 km away. Curitiba is 400 km away.

The town does not have typical dishes, but the portions and recipes based on fish are highly sought after.
